Our Process

At Lux Beef, we control the entire process, from birth to butcher. When our calves are several months old, we dehorn them (for their safety and ours), tag them, take DNA samples (to verify their purity as 100% Akaushi), and give them vitamin shots to help them remain healthy and strong. 

 

Our cattle graze on large, green pastures their entire lives, feeding on nothing but pure grass and hay. We don't finish them off with corn mush to fatten them up, the way most "pasture-raised" cattle are treated. We raise healthy and happy cattle, leading to healthy and delicious beef.

When the steers are ready for harvest, we take them to a trusted, local butcher that focuses on small family farms. We have a USDA inspector on site to inspect and guarantee the safety of the meat so that we can ship to all fifty states in the U.S. We are glad to be involved in every step of the process, and when you buy our meat, you can be confident that much care and diligence went into the process to ensure the best quality with every cow.
